1. Product Overview
MTBE (Methyl Tertiary Butyl Ether) is a mainstream high-octane oxygenated gasoline additive widely used in the petrochemical sector, and a synthetic high-purity ether fine chemical raw material.
It features stable physical properties, excellent miscibility and remarkable gasoline upgrading effects. As a core raw material for domestic clean gasoline blending and fine chemical manufacturing, it is extensively adopted in major industrial fields such as refined oil refining and chemical synthesis, with strong market versatility and wide compatibility.

This product is a colorless, transparent and low-viscosity liquid with a faint ether odor. It is volatile yet chemically stable, free of gum precipitation and resistant to deterioration during long-term storage. Its key commercial specifications are listed below:
• High octane rating: Octane number of approximately 110 with outstanding anti-knock performance; a core component for upgrading gasoline grades.
• High oxygen content: Oxygen content reaches 18.2%, facilitating complete fuel combustion and delivering prominent energy-saving and emission-reduction benefits.
• Wide compatibility: Fully miscible with all types of gasoline fractions without stratification or sedimentation, ensuring stable oil quality.
• Basic physical properties: Density 0.74 g/cm³, boiling point 55.2°C, extremely low water absorption, causing no deterioration to oil products.
3. Major Application Scenarios
1) Clean Gasoline Blending (Core Application)
Specially used as a blending raw material for unleaded clean gasoline in the production of national standard vehicle gasoline and new energy blended fuels.
It effectively boosts gasoline anti-knock performance, optimizes fuel combustion efficiency, cuts emissions of carbon monoxide and hydrocarbons in vehicle exhaust, reduces engine carbon deposits, improves power output and lowers fuel consumption. It fully complies with domestic standards for refined oil quality upgrading.
2) Fine Chemical Raw Material
It can be cracked to produce high-purity isobutene for manufacturing butyl rubber, methyl methacrylate, antioxidants, pesticide intermediates and other products.
Meanwhile, it serves as a high-quality solvent and extractant for coatings, pharmaceuticals, fine purification and other sectors.
